Getting a Horse
A horse is an excellent way to travel through Middle Earth. It's a faithful companion and can get you where you want to go much faster than just running around - 62% faster to be precise.
What You'll Need
The Riding Skill costs 95 Turbine Points and can be purchased in the Lotro Store. At first 95 TP might seem like it's very expensive, but it's only 19 basic deeds. Not that bad! You can also earn the riding skill by completing a quest for Eogar (at the farm) at level 20 if you are a VIP/Subscribed member - the quest is simply running a race around the Horsefields and beat the clock!
What You'll Need
- 500 silver coins
- Riding Skill (passive skill)

To see if you have the Riding Skill, press the "K" key to open up your "Skills" tab. At the top then click "Passive" then scroll down to "Misc. Passive Skills." If you have the Riding Skill it will show up there among all the other misc. passive skills you've earned.
Once you have 500 silver coins and the Riding Skill, head over to Hengstacer Farms, in the Horsefields. The Horsefields are in the Northern Bree Fields and are represented by horses on the map.

Once you've entered the farm, talk to Eogar in the back left corner of the open area. You can then purchase a steed from him for 500 silver. Note that only the first steed you purchase from him will cost 500 silver, and the rest will only be 200 silver.
